A little over one year ago, several unfortunate events almost resulted in the failure to accomplish my goal of graduating from Sacramento State University. From these events, I felt that I needed something more to not only distract myself, but also pressure myself into taking on a larger responsibility and purpose. I felt that the best comfort and companionship that comes without judgement is through a dog. Thats when I visited the Front Street animal shelter without intention of adopting that very day. After only being there for a few minutes, Doc, a floppy, quiet, lovable dog jumped up toward me. Right away, through all the other dogs barking, I knew that this quiet and wide-eyed pup understood me. I put him on reserve to get the house ready, and came back the very next morning.
